There's nothing like the taste of a ripe strawberry freshly picked on a warm summer morning. So sweet and tender it melts in your mouth. A taste so fresh, well, you may not know what you've eaten after a winter of grocery store, plastic clamshell strawberries.
When we go pickin' we head to Schartner Farms in North Conway.
We appreciate all the help we can get with picking berries as we need to pick 90 pounds, and that's alot of berries!
Right now we plan to go on Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27, probably leaving the church at 8 a.m.; if that's too early for you and your family we can arrange to meet you there.
If you'd like to help at the farm you can caravan with us leaving at 8:00 and getting back about noon.
If you'd like more information or would like to help with baking, crafting, selling, gaming, or picking strawberries, please call the Church
at 466-2136 or Vicky McGillicuddy at 723-0052.
To get to Schartners: From the church pull on to Main Street heading east on Route 2 / Route 16. Turn right onto Glen Road / Route 16 going South for 20 miles. Route 16 intersects with Route 302 in Glen; take a left at the traffic light.
About 5 miles later you'll come to another traffic light which is the intersection of Route 16 and River Road; take a right. River Road merges into West Side Road. About 1.2 miles from the traffic light you'll see Schartner's Strawberry Fields on your left.
